Things have been really busy in the alumni office at Reading for the past few weeks.
I have been working hard on the next issues of Giving Matters (our donor magazine) and Connected (our alumni magazine). They are due to be delivered to you at the end of September, but the design process means all of the content needs to be finished this week! We are very excited about these issues – there may be some sneak peeks in later blogs…
Carole has been getting the House of Lords event up and running. For those of you that haven’t heard about it, the House of Lords Reception is our big annual alumni reunion. It is being held on Friday 30 October and registration is now open. This event does sell out so if you haven’t got your tickets yet do visit the booking form here. This year we will be particularly pleased to welcome alumni whose graduation year ended in ‘5’. I graduated the first time from Reading in 2005 so this is my ten year anniversary. I can hardly believe it has been that long! I hadn’t realised it until a fellow alumna helpfully pointed out just how old we are getting… If, like me, you are celebrating a decade reunion, why not try to get a group together and celebrate with us at this prestigious event? We would love to see you.
We have a new member who has joined the team recently. Charlotte Ashley-Buck has come on board as our Alumni Volunteering Officer. She will be writing her own blog for your shortly letting you know all the ways that you can get involved, but in the meantime don’t forget our Volunteering Registration Form is available here – just fill it out to be added to our growing bank of volunteers and be the first to hear about new opportunities.
As always, we want to hear any ideas from you so do get in touch and let us know what you would like from your communications, events and volunteering opportunities. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org.
