My artwork revolves around the themes of journey and memories. Al though travelling holds such a large portion of my life, I can never seem to remember it completely. It blurs as the destination takes the spotlight within my memories. Inspired by Wolfgang Tillman’s technique of focusing into an object/subject and stripping it of its context. I began to take the peculiar unexpected fragments of my journeys to different destinations; like the passengers, road signs and thoughts, and combining them into one surrealist drawing. I created this images in a realistic form using graphite pencils and coloured pencils (inspired by CJ Hendry) to truly show the detail of the little fragments of memory we forget, once we reach our final destination.
