My artwork demonstrates an interest in form and figure, I use my hands to create something I am imagining, but the outcome may differ from my imagination. The sculptures are ironic, my hands lead the practice, yet they act as an appreciation to the two parts of the body I focus on – hands and feet. These two important parts of our body hold many connotations and significance in everyday life that we may take for granted without realising. The layering of the clay created dips and curves to my work, creating depth and form to my disfigured sculptures; with this method of sculpting, I was fond of how looking at the sculptures from each 360 angle gave a new perspective.
