2D Workshop Area

For access to the Dark Room, Screen Printing area or Spray Booth please book an online consultation to happen before the specialist area booking itself. Please also be aware of the following protocol for these spaces apply:

 Dark Room

 To use this space, you will need to have undertaken an induction or have previous experience.

The 2D space will be opened by a member of staff to give you access, however the dark room can only have one person using it. You are expected to work on your own for the booked timeslot and clean the space before leaving.

All equipment should be available in the space. If you are using expendable materials, please discuss in your online consultation beforehand to check that we have the health and safety data sheets.

 Screen-printing

 To use this space, you will need to have undertaken an induction or have previous experience.

The 2D space will be opened up by a member of staff. There can only be one person undertaking screen printing as it requires the use of rooms which are safe for one person only.

If you are using expendable materials, please discuss in your online consultation beforehand to check that we have the health and safety data sheets. In the consultation you will need to state:

  • You will use water-based paint only
  • What screen size you require
  • How long you need the screen for (one off or over a number of days / weeks)

 Spray Booth

To use this space, you will need to have undertaken an induction or have previous experience. You must also wear a P3 mask and have undertaken a face fitting test, which the department can supply you with.

The 2D space will be opened by a member of staff for access. However, the spray booth can only have one person using it.
