Volunteering Opportunity with the Alzheimer’s Society

Written by
Date posted: March 1, 2012

An exciting opportunity has arisen to volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Society who are looking for support for their team of runners at this year’s Reading Half Marathon. The charity is looking for students to volunteer on the day and help them cheer on their runners as they undertake this challenge.

Volunteers will receive a free Alzheimer’s Society t-shirt and the chance to be a part of a world class sporting event. Whatsmore, volunteers will be able to leave knowing that their enthusiastic cheers helped someone get through this huge challenge! Not only will it be an enjoyable day but a great experience to add to your CV.

Those who are interested would be required for 2 – 3 hours on Sunday 1 April, though if you aren’t able to  make all day the Alzheimer’s Society would love to have you help for as long as you can. Refreshments will be provided by the Alzheimer’s Society and a full volunteer brief will be sent before race day to ensure all are aware of meeting points and timings.

This could be an excellent opportunity to meet the volunteering requirement of the RED Award.

To offer your support please email Megan Bailey at the following address: megan.bailey@alzheimers.org.uk
