Volunteers required for Henley Literary Festival 2012

For seven days in September, from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th, a stunning cast comes together in a spectacular setting for the sixth Henley Literary Festival. Writers like Jo Jo Moyes, Michael Palin and David Lodge join with names such as Rupert Everett, David Baddiel, Brian Moore, Lucy Worsley, Prue Leith and John Major for what is now acknowledged as one of the finest events of its kind. The historic town provides a fabulous backdrop for more than 90 events, including the ever-popular River Readings which take place on a boat on the Thames.

Henley Literary Festival uses various venues in and around the town for its events. To do this, the Festival relies on the generosity of a number of volunteers who help run the different venues. Being, or supporting, a Venue Manager involves preparing the venue, dealing with questions from Festival visitors, taking tickets and generally making sure each event runs smoothly.

Volunteering at the Festival is great fun and a good way to gain experience in events. Please email Sophie Stephenson at sophie.stephenson@henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk (preferably before the end of August) to express your interest.
