STaR (Student Transitions at Reading) mentors are current student volunteers that are committed to helping others and genuinely want to make a difference to a new student’s start at the University of Reading.
Non-final year Undergraduate, International Foundation Programme and Postgraduate Research students from any academic subject can apply.
Students that apply to become a STaR mentor will:
- Gain volunteer experience
- Help new students by answering questions and preparing them for starting University
- Develop personal and professional skills for future employment
- Achieve hours for the RED Award
