Creative Careers Clinics from NFTS

The National Film and Television School would like to invite you to their upcoming Creative Career Clinic sessions which will be held via Zoom.

These sessions offer insight into how you can establish a career in the film, television, or games industry after your undergraduate degree, how your skills are adaptable, and what potential career pathways are available to you.

Thursday 17 June, 3.30pm – Sound Design for Film and Television

Students can learn about pathways in sound design for film and television and how this could be a great choice following on from an undergraduate degree in the arts, media, sound or music. You will hear about roles in audio post-production, and how to develop the techniques and creative awareness required to work as professional sound editors, sound designers, and dubbing mixers.

This would be of interest to Film and Television students who are interested in this career path.

Wednesday 23 June, 4:30pm – Assistant Directing and Floor Managing

This session would be suitable for students studying undergraduate courses with hands-on experience in film, television, or other related creative production activity who want to find out more about this exciting area of the film and television industry and the day-to-day roles needed to help to create a box office success.

This would be suitable for students studying Film and Television.

Monday 28 June, 4:30pm – Creative Business for Entrepreneurs and Executives

This session would be of interest to Business and Management, Consumer Behaviour and Marketing, and Film and Television students who could be interested in starting their own arts business. You will learn about the tools needed to create the creative businesses of the future – whether in publishing, theatre, games, film, television, music or digital entertainment.

Wednesday 30 June, 4:30pm – Cameras, Sound and Vision Mixing for Television

This session will discuss the career paths in live multi-camera television production. Learn about the core skills needed as a Camera Operator, hear about the live visual effects needed during a live production and how to mic and mix sound for genres including music, drama, and sport.

This would be suitable for Film and Television students.

Thursday 1 July, 4:30pm – Directing and Producing Science and Natural History

Are you passionate about the world of science, conservation, biodiversity, and the natural world and want to learn how to become a filmmaker in this field? Learn about the career prospects in this exciting industry and how you can be a part of this helping to tell the stories that need to be told.

This session is aimed at Animal Science, Archaeology, Biological Sciences, Meteorology and Climate, Ecology and Wildlife Conservation, Environmental Science, Film and Television and Zoology students who may be interested in this area.
