Kick-start your career with Kick-Start!

Elevation Networks have partnered with the Deloitte Multicultural Network to deliver “Kick-start”, a four day programme for students interested in a career in professional services at Deloitte.

Monday 1st August – Thursday 4th August

Open to all students in their penultimate or final year of their degree.

The aim of this programme is to provide attendees with a unique opportunity to:

  • Develop the core skills needed to be a professional advisor:
  • Gain a deeper understanding of what Deloitte does;
  • Win two week’s work experience at Deloitte!

What will I be doing?

As part of the programme, you will have the opportunity to do the following:

  • Gain an exclusive insight into Deloitte, learning who they are what exactly it is that they do
  • Meet current Deloitte employees including partners and graduates that have recently joined the business
  • Attend a formal dinner with Partners/Directors
  • Take part in various skills sessions (including, presentation skills, business writing, psychometric testing, and more)
  • Attend a selection process workshop led by the Deloitte student recruitment team and improve your chances of securing roles post-graduation
  • Prepare and deliver a presentation to a panel of Deloitte judges

Join professional journalists at NewsAssociates’ Journalism Workshops!

NewsAssociates are running both news and sports events throughout the summer to help trainee journalists make the next step in their career.

Aspiring reporters interested in a career in newspapers, magazines, online or broadcast can enroll for a free journalism workshop staged at the newsroom of national press agency News Associates. This three-hour session will get you working on your own stories and there will be a chance to meet News Associates tutors, reporters and editors. Each attendee will get individual feedback and career advice.

Deaf Unity: The Deaf and Disability Careers Fair 2016

Deaf Unity and Bristol North West MP Charlotte Leslie have joined forces to host a Deaf and Disability Careers Fair later this year.

The aim of this event is to build on Deaf Unity’s hugely successful Deaf Careers Fair 2014, which was nominated for the 2014 Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development People Development Award. The Deaf and Disability Careers Fair will be held on 9th September 2016 at the Greenway Community Centre in Southmead, Bristol.

The first Deaf Careers Fair held in London 2014 linked more than 140 deaf and hard of hearing people with a range of equal opportunities employers.
