Brownie Science Activity

In the Autumn term the Department of Chemistry visited a local Brownie pack and provided a series of hands on science activities for the girls to enjoy. The event was organised by Dr Joanne Elliott, Athena SWAN Ambassador for the School and the event was hosted by Claire Murray, a postgraduate student in the Department and leader of the local Brownie pack. Joanne and Claire were pleased to be accompanied by Dr Elizabeth Page, School Director of Outreach, and all offered their time and enthusiasm to ensure the event went smoothly. This type of activity is part of a series of Departmental Outreach Events designed to encourage and enthuse young people about science.
