Chemistry and CAF will be making a further appearance on Monday 2nd November, on BBC South’s “Inside Out” investigative programme at 7.30pm. This includes the X-ray platform with Chemistry’s, Dr Ann Chippindale making an appearance.

BBC South are investigating a miracle face cream based on vanishingly small amounts of caper extract (3 parts per million in the actual cream).

Professor Laurence Harwood, The Director of CAF, and other members of staff in the Department of Chemistry were also involved in the making of this programme.

 

 

On Monday 26th October the Chemistry Research Colloquium is by Professor Andrew Goodwin, Oxford University.

His talk, “Strongly correlated disorder” will be at 3.45pm in Chemistry LTG preceded by refreshments in the foyer at 3.30pm.

On Monday 19th October the Chemistry Research Colloquium is by Professor Jochen Blumberger, University College London.

His talk, “Simulation of electron transfer in condensed matter: from oxide materials to multi-heme proteins” will be at 3.45pm in Chemistry LTG preceded by refreshments in the foyer at 3.30pm.

On Monday 12th October the Chemistry Research Colloquium is by Professor Polly Arnold, University of Edinburgh.

Her talk, “Controlling Small Molecule Activation with f-block Pacman Complexes” will be at 3.45pm in Chemistry LTG preceded by refreshments in the foyer at 3.30pm.
