JISC Visiting the Digitally Ready

Lots of ideas and enthusiasm were shared between the project team at Reading and Sarah Knight and Paul Bailey from JISC yesterday. After the project overview (Digitally Ready Overview) by Shirley and myself, the introductions revealed the breadth of experience and interest in Digital Literacies among the members of our team, as well as the various university initiatives that will feed in the project.

Two student representatives (Reading Student Union) joined us to share their commitment and willingnes to work with us over the next two years.

The Reading team were very impressed by the organisation and support that JISC will provide to the project, esp. the programme meetings and the cluster activity that will facilitate exchange of ideas, experiences and lessons learnt.

Many Thanks to Sarah and Paul for a useful meeting! Now down to work 😉

  1. This promises to be an exciting project for both staff and students. I’m looking forward to develop digital literacies in Life Sciences and to link with other digital literacy development across campus. I’ll be encouraging use of the Whiteknights Biodiversity blog (http://www.reading.ac.uk/blogs/whiteknightsbiodiversity/) among students in October. Alastair

Agree, seemed to be a very successful start to the project, with a breadth of expertise and enthusiasm for the project. Please ensure UBTL or one of its sub-committees is kept informed of developments, I will do all I can to help. Julian
