I’d like to have more awareness & time to use/try out the different & ‘new’ technologies

Thank you so much for your letter, which I think highlights some wants and desires shared by many of us! We will certainly do our best to share examples of practice. Please do let us know of any you think are particularly note-worthy.
The CDOTL pixies have a Teaching & Learning strategy which specifically encourages innovative teaching and learning. Wouldn’t it be great if this was adopted and applied to staff training too? Having the opportunity to develop training and teaching practice enables us to evolve good practice to fit the needs of the learners (who are, at the end of the day, all of us) and keep things fresh, dynamic, up to date and interesting.
I certainly think it is important to have the time to explore and learn, especially when your role involves teaching or training others. I will check to see whether anyone has invented a Tardis yet, but in the meantime, I think we should start a conversation about the importance of time in education, and also we all probably need to try to see if we can make the slow tasks we do take a little less time – maybe some of the new technology can help!
