Prof. Grace Ioppolo is starting a new School of Literature and Languages Research Group in Theatre History and Performance Studies that will concentrate on the history and performance of drama on stage from the ancient to the modern ages. This Research Group builds on the School’s long-standing and stellar international reputation especially in the theatrical and peformance studies of medieval, Shakespearean, early modern and Beckettian drama, with plans to expand these studies to all periods of drama taught within the School and across the University.
The inaugural event for the Research Group will be a conference on November 24 at Reading on Shakesepearean and early modern drama:

Further events, including lectures and seminars, will bring theatre practitioners, historians and archivists to the University to share their expertise.
