Who are we?

Although the main contributor to this blog will be the Intro Macro convener, James Reade, there is a whole team of folk contributing interesting and informative content to this blog, and on this page each of us will provide a little bit of biographic information…

James Reade I’m a lecturer in the economics department, and have been since 2013; before that I was a lecturer in Birmingham, and before that a student at Durham and Oxford universities. One of my areas of research interest is macroeconomics, albeit from a data-centric perspective. I lecture Intro Macro (EC114) and also Business and Financial Forecasting (a part 3 option, EC313), and while I won’t turn EC114 into an econometrics course (you’re getting that elsewhere), I will nonetheless give you access to macroeconomic data in order to help us better understand economic theories and their relationship with the real world.
