				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We would like to remind IT Supporters that they can now access the Windows 7 staff image for deployment in their supported departments.</p>
<p>Software also included in this build consists of Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X, Sophos Client and the UoR Fonts.<span id="more-138"></span></p>

<p>Work continues on the Windows 7 PC lab image and this will be deployed from Thursday 21 July on new machines. For departmental labs, there are minimum specification requirements:</p>
<p>2GB RAM</p>
<p>80GB Hard disk drive</p>
<p>Dell PC incorporating the Intel 745 Chipset (ie less than 5years old)</p>
<p>For those with current SSAs, we will be contacting you to discuss the options available to you but if you have a query about this, please contact ITS Help on ext6262</p>

<p>We expect that staff Exchange email and the University&#8217;s web pages will be available throughout this period though there may be some short interruptions to these services. The readingLive student email service itself and the Library Unicorn service will be unaffected by the upgrades.</p>
<p>All other IT services including N drives, collaborative shares, secure shares, departmental data areas, Blackboard, Trent, Adlib, PC facilities, CentAUR, Unix email, printing, media streaming and software distribution will be unavailable during this period.</p>

<p>This is of a higher quality than the web one as it is taken from the encoder before it gets converted to a flash video, but can only be viewed from within the University of Reading network infrastructure.</p>
<p>This can be opened in VLC player (<a href="http://www.videolan.org/">Videolan.org</a>), you can use the SAP announcements to view the &#8216;UoR Live Events&#8217; channel from the &#8216;University of Reading (Television)&#8217; section.</p>
