Following positive feedback from Reading students and staff in usability tests, we launched ‘Enterprise’, our new, improved online catalogue on Monday 2 July. We expect it to help you find relevant items more easily - not only within Library collections but Special Collections of rare books and archives and the Museum of English Rural Life’s collections as well.
Improved searching
- Enterprise presents most useful matches at the top of your results list by using relevancy ranking, similar to Google
- It is also more forgiving of misspellings, so searches are less likely to fail
- Online resource links are more prominent, so access takes fewer clicks
Refine your results
Get exactly what you want by narrowing your initial search results by …
- availability – online or not
- format – book, journal, archive, object, etc
- publication date
- language
- collection – limit to specific University collections eg Beckett Collection
- subject
- author
Search across Reading collections
Enterprise includes details of items held in a number of University collections. With one search you can find materials from:
- University Library – books, journals, DVDs, etc
- Special Collections - rare books and archives
- Museum of English Rural Life – books, archives and objects held in the Museum
