Developing the careers of talented young people in the charity sector
Charityworks aims to grow and retain the future managers and leaders of the charity sector. The not-for-profit sector is essential to the way the United Kingdom functions, and is increasingly taking the lead in addressing social problems, providing public services, and campaigning for change.
Charities are a fantastic place to work, with many challenging opportunities, but it is increasingly hard to get a foot in the door. Charityworks gives young people the opportunity to do exactly that, plus:
● A full-time salary
● An opportunity to work in at least one leading charitable organisation
● A professional development programme, accredited by the ILM
● The skills needed to work at first level management across the charity sector
● Expert mentoring from a sector expert
● Peer to peer networking in the charity, public and private sectors
At the end of the first two years of the scheme 100% of the Graduate Trainees were offered jobs in an organisation with whom they had undertaken a placement, all in a position above entry level.
