<p>Most importantly, the Volunteering Fayre is happening tomorrow, Wednesday 22 February from 12pm &#8211; 3pm in 3sixty of the Students&#8217; Union. With over 30 different organisations, there&#8217;s plenty of opportunity to find the right volunteering activity for you.</p>
<p>The Careers Centre and the RED Award will be there &#8211; so if you have any questions on how volunteering can help with your career or what you need to do in order to achieve RED, come along and speak to us at our stand.  </p>

<p>Reading Sea Cadets are seeking an instructor, male or female, to assist in the development of young people as individuals and active citizens by providing training, guidance, direction and assistance. You would also have a duty of care to ensure the safety and supervision of young people whilst engaged in Sea Cadet activities. The sea cadets are aged 10-18 and you can help out at sessions on Monday or Thursday evenings between 7 and 9pm. They are based at Brock Barracks on Oxford Road and the position would suit somebody who is Self organised andmotivated, Likes team work, Happy to work solo, Keen learner, Good sense of humour, Sociable, Patient and Supportive. Training would be given in  Safeguarding, Adult Induction, Instructional Methods &amp; First Aid as and when run.</p>

<p><em>Have you thought about a career in the City and what it&#8217;s like for LGBT people working there?</em></p>
<p>If you think the world of law, banking and accountancy might be for you, why not go along and chat with senior representative from these sectors on <strong>8 March 2012</strong></p>
<p>The event will provide LGBT students with the opportunity to find out what each profession is really like, both as a career and as an LGBT-friendly environment.  The format will be a short panel discussion followed by an informal Q&amp;A session and drinks reception.</p>
<p>Freshfields are hosting this event and will invite some of their top clients from around the City to join the panel.  Currently confirmed are:</p>

<p>The true food co-op are looking for people to serve in their organic food shop, helping first time customers, elderly and infirm shoppers, taking payments, offering information on products and services and answering questions.</p>
<p>They are looking for ten volunteers to help for a few hours per week at their shop on Grove Road, Emmer Green. This work would suit someone who is self -organised and motivated, happy to work solo, a keen leaner and sociable. Training is offered in food handling, hygiene, and till operation and support is given by staff on the premises.  They will pay reasonable travel expenses and have public transport nearby and secure cycle parking.</p>
<p>They are looking for people to work on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday afternoons or Wednesday or Thursday mornings.</p>
<p>You may need to give references.</p>
