As the weather conditions are closing in on Whiteknights and Henley Campuses (and more snow predicted), we have made the decision to cancel classes this afternoon. We need to ensure that students and staff, particularly those facing longer journeys, get home safely before it gets dark. Please take care on paths and roads across campus. Please be aware that staff may not be available to answer your queries until early next week.
Student Services Centre is closing at noon. The Students Union is closing at 13:00.
The Library will remain open until 17:00 today and aims to be open 11:00-17:00 over the weekend. Please check the Library website for updates. The University Museums and Special Collections will be open until 16:00 today and hope to be open over the weekend as usual.
The SportsPark and Library cafes on Whiteknights will remain open on Friday afternoon.
There are exams taking place at London Road this afternoon. The ICMA exams at 14:00 are still taking place.
Update- looking ahead to Monday
We are expecting to be back to normal on Monday and look forward to seeing you back on campus then. Grounds staff have cleared campus roads and most footpaths today and will be working over the weekend to clear car parks and make the campus as accessible as possible for Monday. However, with more cold weather and snow forecast over the weekend, please check back here on Sunday evening for further updates.
Updated at 17:30 Sunday 20 January
Grounds staff have worked hard over the weekend to clear snow from campus roads, car parks and paths. We are expecting University campuses to be open as usual tomorrow (Monday), but should weather deteriorate badly overnight, we will update you first thing Monday morning. There is still snow and ice on all campuses, and paths and some roads remain very icy. Even if there is no further snow overnight, it will remain slippery under foot on Monday so please tread carefully and avoid walking under snow-laden trees.
