RUSU Elections

Each year you are given the chance to decide the future direction of your Students’ Union. This term you can elect five Full-time Officers, seven Part-time Officers, eight Undergraduate Faculty Reps and two Student Trustees.

Nominations are now open for these leadership and representation roles in RUSU. All of the roles give you new skills and experiences and will look great on your CV.

Voting opens at 10:00 on Monday 23 February and will close at 15:00 on Friday 27 February.

Local and General Elections

Whilst we’re talking about elections… you may have noticed lots of talk of the upcoming General Election. The general election will take place on Thursday 7 May 2015. There are also Local Elections scheduled for this year. To vote in an election you must be eligible to vote in the UK and on the electoral register.

If you are living in Reading you may be eligible to join the local electoral roll.

  • update your name, address or other details on the electoral register

You need to be on the electoral register to vote in elections and referendums.

Registering takes around 5 minutes.

You’ll need your National Insurance number (if you have one).
