You may have noticed that week 6 of the Autumn and Spring term has different timetabling from the other weeks of term. This is because week 6 is used by your School to enhance the curriculum and offer you slightly different content.
If you’re a returning student, you will remember that week 6 of both terms was previously ‘Enhancement Week’. For new students, this was a week of both academically related and extracurricular activities.
From this academic year onward, week 6 will purely include degree-related material. The week will be used by your School to enhance the curriculum and offer you slightly different content. This might be helping your with your study skills, allowing you to go on a field trip without missing classes or receiving specialist tuition without the hindrance of fitting it into a full timetable. You may therefore have fewer classes this week.
Please note that the University of Reading does not have half term or a reading week. Week 6 of term is part of your curriculum and your attendance is compulsory and no different from other weeks of term.
Make sure you ask your personal tutor about what the School has planned and keep an eye on Me@Reading Student for more updates.
