The first stage of lifting and potting up of plants has been completed

Thanks to the 12 student volunteers for their hard work on Wednesday afternoon.  Several wheelbarrow loads of compost were mixed and used to pot up 15 different tropical species giving them time to establish before the parent plants are dug up and removed. The biggest plants to be divided were the Papyrus (Cyperus papyrus) and banana (Musa), the smallest the Rhoeo discolour (boat lily).   Some plants such as the black pepper (Piper nigrum) and strawberry guava (Psidium cattleianum) will be repropagated to give them new vigour.
