TSBE Research Engineer Tim McGinley presented his research to develop an online tool that supports public participation in planning called PartiCity at the V&A yesterday. The V&A holds the Design Futures open studio showcase for MA and PhD students and researchers to present new work including interactive installations, data visualisations, wearables, 3D printing, sound and more. Held in the Sackler Gallery the programme offers participants opportunities to show and discuss their work with fellow artists, technologists and the public, but also a platform to network and nurture discussion and future collaborations. Other research presented dealing with a similar theme of supporting the development of sustainable communities included The Talking Quilt by Sara Heitlinger & Orla O’Flanagan.
