More Healthy Living Assessment and Advice for the local community!

Pharmacy staff and Part 4 Pharmacy students will be visiting two local communities to deliver free Healthy Living Assessment and Advice:

Students Delivering Free Healthy Living Assessment and Advice!

In January 2015, our final-year Pharmacy Students visited two local community centres to deliver free Healthy Living Assessment and Advice to the population based around the University of Reading.  This was the first time that we had taken our student-led service off-campus! We had an excellent turnout and saw over 80 people over two days! The first event was launched by the Mayor of Earley (Councillor Linda Chambers), the Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences (Professor Richard Ellis) as well as our own Head of Pharmacy (Professor Helen Osborn). The Dean reminded us that this is a great achievement, in a year that sees Reading School of Pharmacy celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The event was supported by funding from the Earley Charity. Here is a photo of staff and students applauding the launch! Catherine Langran, second from the right, set up the innovative health check project a number of years ago and our Pharmacy students all get to experience delivering these checks on campus as part of their course.
