A beautful sunny September morning set the scene for the culmination of the first season of honey production in the School of Biological Sciences Walled garden at the west end of the Harris Garden.

This was a distinct contrast to the arrival of the bee colonies in May when Helen and Julia had to contend with rather damper weather.

The Autumn launch of the project allowed the Vice Chancellor, Sir David Bell to sample the delights on Whiteknights first honey crop, ably helped by part of the bee-keeping team. The honey was outstandingly good and has already one first prize in a local show.
