Creative, Cultures and Heritage Theme Week

It’s a new year, a new term, and we are kicking off with a fresh update to highlight our upcoming Theme Week in Careers starting on 16th January – Creative, Cultures and Heritage!

As internships, placements, and graduate jobs in these sectors are very popular among Reading students, the University’s Careers team wants to help you explore and gain insight from others in this career path.

To give you an insider’s perspective, there will be a number of differently themed sessions next week. These will be a mix of online and in-person sessions open to all students, irrespective of your department.

The following events will be taking place:

  • Explore Careers in Museums and Heritage
In this online event, gain insight into careers in museums and heritage by joining us for a panel event and hear from professionals across a range of specialisms, such as curation, museum education and  conservation, talk about their careers and offer advice to students interested in this kind of work.

  • Explore Careers in Creative Therapies
This is a unique opportunity for students to learn more about how the Arts can be applied in individual therapy and mental wellbeing. Hear from a selection of therapists who specialise in areas such as Art and Music therapy talk about their roles, their career journey and what a career as a creative therapist involves.

  • Explore Careers in film, TV and broadcasting
If you are intrigued by a career in film, TV and broadcasting and want to learn more about how to break into this very competitive market, join us for our exciting panel event. This will be a great opportunity to hear from professionals across a range of areas talking about their careers journeys and sharing insight with students on how to break into this area of work.

Students will hear from professionals in various sectors and with the chance to hear about their personal experiences and ask questions, these aren’t events to miss.

While students will be able to hear from professionals and gain invaluable career advice, these will also count towards the RED Award. If you have time and want to learn more, book your space via My Jobs Online now.
