Finding internships and work experience

October 14, 2019 @ 17:00 - 18:00

Want to build your work experience? We encourage all students to complete at least two internships throughout their undergraduate degree. Internships are available for all year groups, from Part one to final year students.

Come to this 50-minute, practical session and find out:

– The basics: terminology, timeframes for applications and where internships are advertised;
– Deadlines and when to apply (did you know internships for summer 2020 already have deadlines in autumn 2019?)
– How to identify sources of internships and work experience specific to the area you are targeting;
– Help with making proactive, speculative requests for internships and work experience (where none are advertised!).

What’s in it for me?

This session is your one stop shop to getting internships and work experience with the leading organisations in your field.

Who’s it for?
Undergraduate students in their first and second /penultimate years of study. If you’re a Part 1 or Part 2 student, this is a key workshop. We also run this session on:

14/Nov 5pm
9/Dec 1pm

*This workshop can count for 1 hour of your RED Award training: reading.ac.uk/REDAward
