The RED Awards Celebration Event was held on 7 May at the Meadow Suite, where 63 RED students gathered together to celebrate their achievements and got awarded their RED certificates.
The Outstanding Achievement Award was also awarded for the first time to students who completed all three RED Awards. This includes the RED Professional Development Award, RED Sustainable Action Award and RED Global Engagement Award.
We were honoured to welcome Professor Elizabeth McCrum, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, to present the Outstanding Achievement Award to the following students: Justice Abu-Boateng, Lucas Alvarez, Anson Wong, Thanvi Buddharaju, Abby Cornwell, Harry Hand, Verity Jones, Mia Morgan, Sherrie Shakiba and Ella Tilbury.
These students made a significant impact within their communities and went the extra mile to develop their employability skills, sustainable knowledge and global understanding. The Outstanding Achievement Award represents over 110 hours of extracurricular work.
We were also privileged to invite Paul Hanrahan from Enterprise Mobility to present certificates to our RED Award recipients. He used this as an opportunity to highlight the importance of the experiences and skills students acquired throughout their RED Awards journey when applying for graduate jobs.
Corinne Brookes, International Student Experience Manager at the University presented the RED Global Engagement Award certificates.
Students enjoyed a drinks reception upon arrival at the celebration event, and had the opportunity to get their LinkedIn headshots taken by photographer Alanna Shrubb.
