“25 Years of Research in The Department of Chemistry, 1986-2011. Talk by Professor Matthew Almond

On Thursday 25th October, at 2.30pm in Chem LTG, Professor Matthew Almond will be giving a talk to the Department.

This talk will summarise 25 years of research by Matthew in the Department of Chemistry. He will discuss how his interests have developed from looking at small molecules in low temperature matrices, to materials chemistry – studying deposition of thin films by Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition. More recently his interests have moved into the areas of Forensic Science and Archaeometry. A common theme is infrared spectroscopy, but those attending the talk will find links…very tenuous…to The Spice Girls, England’s World Cup Win in 1966 and the Coalition Government.
