Letters to Santa: A ‘can do’ culture

Imagination is more important than intelligence

Imagination is more important than intelligence

Hi,

Santa has asked me to reply to your letter.  I am so sorry to hear that you have had to use the CMS, I and many other elves’ hearts go out to you.

Upskilling is what we are all about over the next couple of years.  I think it is fair to say that we cannot hope to address all the training needs of everyone across the campus, but hopefully we can help people to help themselves.  One of the ways of doing this, and it is a wish we have seen on several letters to Santa, is to try and find them more time, opportunity and permission to try new things out, to innovate and experiment, just as you suggest.

Santa is very keen on a ‘can do’ approach, and loves to say ‘Yes’.  I  must admit, I think sometimes he says ‘Yes’ a bit too often, and that’s why he has delegated answering these letters to me.  I’ll be trying to find ways of using digital technology to make things more efficient, so I have more time to experiment.  If you find anything that can be useful like that, please do let me know.  Otherwise I might have to delegate the letter writing to someone else next year!
