Championship 19/1/2021

A couple of these matches have kicked off as I type this.

Blackburn v Swansea is off (not due to Covid but waterlogged pitch according to the BBC).

Derby v Bournemouth and Reading v Coventry are 6pm kick offs today.

Derby v Bournemouth is at 1-1, as the most likely result in our model but bookmakers favour Bournemouth at 47.7% to win. We have them on 35.7 and 35.9% to win.

Reading v Coventry – our model has predicted a 1-0 win for Reading with bookmakers being relatively close to our odds of a Reading win (47.6% from our model and 43.5% from bookmaker mean odds).

In other games, firstly the Championship carries on with not providing many overwhelming favourites, unlike the Premier League that regularly throws out odds for a win at over 80% for the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Man Utd. Lots of 1-0 and 1-1’s predicted this midweek.

Norwich, the league leaders come in at just over 50% in our model with a 1-0 win against Bristol City whilst bookmakers have them at 59.7%.

Brentford are also on a fairly high likely win score at 56.2% from our model and 59.7% with bookmakers. They are 4th in the league and are at home to 12h placed Luton.
