We just wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the students, parents (and grandparents) who visited us on Friday’s open day. We hope you enjoyed the day, and managed to see something of our beautiful campus despite the rain.
Like you, we’ve now finished our exams and things will begin to quieten down for the summer very soon. We have our graduation ceremony on July 6th, and that is always a lovely day when we can celebrate our students’ achievements with their families. Some day, that will be you! After that, students will go away for the summer jobs, or placements, or holidays. Members of staff will disappear into the archives and libraries for research visits, and will be giving conference papers in various places (from Manchester to Montreal).
By September, we will be back, preparing teaching materials for the new term and gearing up for the UCAS applications to arrive. And you will be getting ready for an important and exciting year too.
There are many ways that you can keep in touch with us. We will be holding regular ‘Visit Days’ for those who accept an offer of a place from us. If you have any queries before then, you can contact one of the admission team by email (see below).
And if you just want to keep in touch with what we are doing, you can visit our website (http://www.reading.ac.uk/english-literature/ell-home.aspx), or our Blog (https://blogs.reading.ac.uk/english-at-reading). You can ‘friend’ us on Facebook (Department of English Literature at The University of Reading) or follow us on Twitter (@Reading_English).
Enjoy your summer, and keep in touch.
With best wishes, from the Admissions Team
