Barbarians
Tommy and I have just completed our degree of Film and Theatre at the University of Reading. Our final project ‘Barbarians’ showcased the 1970s working classes and related it to the pandemic today. Tommy has interests in becoming an actor in the industry, whereas I am more interested in being a set designer, costume designer or cinematographer. We have both learnt so many transferable skills within this degree and are excited to put them into practice.

Our collaborative piece included making sets representing working class London in the 1970s. This was our final project that was submitted in May. With the Covid restrictions constantly changing, the pair of us decided to make our performance more virtual, explaining what we would have done, if the restrictions were to change. However, we were lucky enough to construct a set of what we would have done, with this, we created our swamp setting.
