We are very pleased to share that the digital capabilities project has been extended until September 2025!
Over the next 6-7 months, the Digital Capabilities Officer will continue to work with the Action Group to review recommendations for the future of the digital capabilities development, and work on some projects related to digital capabilities that should help to provide further information and evidence.
This will include:
- Identifying some training topics for staff and students, and offering some workshops to address skills gaps and raise awareness of digital capabilities
- For example, two digital capabilities workshops will be offered as part of the Library & Study Advice ‘Kickstart Your Master’s Dissertation’ week in March 2025.
- Improving the existing Digital Skills resources page – staff and students have asked for a resources hub to help them to identify existing development opportunities
- Further investigation of the Jisc Discovery Tool to support staff digital capabilities development – this could involve working with some professional services teams to review a digital skills checklist, and how the self-assessment tool could be used within professional development.
The project recommendations will be shared with University committees over the summer period – this additional time will support planning and allow more time to gather feedback from colleagues, so is very welcome!
