We’re excited to launch Music Buddies for the first time in 2020. Through our musical matchmaking we’ll link up new and experienced students and colleagues over the next couple of months, so that everyone has a friendly face they recognise at the first rehearsal. Scroll down to find out a bit more about Music Buddies, whether you’re new to UoR Music or you have been involved over the last few years:
I’m new to UoR Music:
Hi, it’s great to meet you! Through Music Buddies, we’ll introduce you to an experienced member of UoR Music – in most cases, they’ll be a member of the same ensembles you would like to join, play the same instruments, or study in the same school as you. Whether you want someone who can answer questions – however silly they feel; a friendly face to walk to the first rehearsal with; or just fancy a chat with someone with similar interests, your buddy will be ready to welcome you into the wonderful musical world at the University of Reading. To sign up and meet your music buddy, fill out this form and keep an eye on your emails over the next couple of weeks!
I’m an experienced UoR Music member:
It seems like ages since we’ve seen each other in person, but that’s about to change! If you’d like to help us welcome new members to the wonderful musical world at the University of Reading, then fill out this form. We’ll match you up with a new member of UoR Music – in most cases, they’ll be interested in joining some of the ensembles you are already part of, play the same instruments, or they’ll be part of the same school as you, so you’ll immediately have something to talk about. You’ll be their first port of call to find out answers to any questions that they have, or show them how to reach the Music Building, or just a friendly face to chat to. To help answer any questions that come up, we’ll hold a short, virtual information session at the beginning of Welcome Week, letting you know about our plans for the term and answering any questions that you have. To become a Music Buddy, fill out this form and keep an eye on your emails over the next couple of weeks.
