Watlington ‘from the hills’, early 20th century

This image was also taken by Phillip Collier and shows Watlington in the distance, as seen from a high vantage point. It was probably taken from the edge of the Chilterns, whcih look down on the town. Although not strictly speaking on the route I am trying to follow, the image nevertheless helps to contextualise my friend’s commute and to give a sense of the countrified character of the place that he lives.
