We are gradually beginning to get inside the Victorian excavators’ minds…disentangling their excavation techniques will be one of the main challenges of excavating Insula III. But with the addition of 3 hard hitters in the form of Rich, Steve and Perry the Victorian backfill is being removed piecemeal – and visible progress is being made.

Other news from today…well, the heat….the heat….the heat. Just when we think we are getting used to it……it gets even hotter. So, working hours reduced and a wonderful array of head gear on site to keep the sun’s rays at bay…..and we get through another day!
