This is our one hundredth week of excavation since the Silchester ‘Town Life’ project began in 1997……100 weeks of my life….how else could I have possibly spent them?

Why I love it here
We had 16 new people on site today – the hottest day of the year so far – and I must pay tribute to them all here. For the majority of the newcomers this was their first time on an excavation – add to that the challenges of a 32 degree day – and well, they are heroes all!
