The Student Services Centre is located in the Carrington Building. It is the  home to student support services on the Whiteknights Campus. It is your one stop shop* for help and support during your time at Reading – from Accommodation to Exams.

Ground floor

Your first port of call should be the Helpdesk. You can drop in to get key information or guidance from one of our friendly and experienced Helpdesk Advisers, or make an appointment with a specialist adviser from one of the support teams:

Student and advisor at HelpdeskThe Helpdesk can provide copies of documentation, issue Campus Cards, check your enrolment or billing status, give you directions, update your data, assist with payments, and generally provide information on most student-related issues. The Student Advisory Team provides support and advice for International Students, information on suspensions and withdrawals and general welfare support. The Student Financial Support Team can help you with funding queries and information on bursaries, scholarships and prizes. The Student Payments Team are here to help you in the event of difficulties with your fees, including arranging payment plans.

On the ground floor you will also find:

  • Accommodation Enquiry desk where you can get information about our Halls of Residence
  • Disability Advisory Service for help and support for students with a disability
  • PCs where you can browse information leaflets or access our online Helpdesk and FAQs.

First floor

On the first floor you will find the Careers, Placement and Experience Centre (CPEC), offering careers advice and much more. In room 106 you will find the Counselling Services who offer professional, confidential and non-judgemental support to enable students to make the most of their time at Reading. If you don’t want to speak to someone fro the Counselling Service you can get informal, friendly and confidential support for students by students from the Peer Supporters– they run an ‘open house’ on the first floor landing every Wednesday 12:00-14:30.

Second floor

On the second floor of the Carrington Building you will find the Examinations Office and the Joint Faculties Office. These offices provide support for academic related issues you may encounter whilst at Reading – please email with initial enquiries and to request appointments ( or

    Hope you and everyone at the department are well.

    I was wondering if it was possible to get a copy of my university transcript sent to me and also confirm the start date of the course in 2009 and its end in 2012 (unless these dates are on the transcript).

    Any help you can give is much appreciated.
