We’re looking for four, enthusiastic, out-going 1st years to appear in a 3- 4 minute film which will be used in this year’s welcome week to our new students. We’ll pay you £30 to take part in the film, and you’ll also be helping out fellow students, and playing a part in the new look Reading Welcome Week for our new students!

The film will be focussed on the transition to new ways of learning at University to prepare new students. We want you to talk about self-motivation, time-management, how to juggle a million pieces of course work, where to find advice on essay writing, etc. We’ll help you out and provide direction on the day, so you don’t have to be an actor – just someone with a lot of enthusiasm and a bit of personality  – and not camera shy!

If you want to take part we’d like you to:

  1. Confirm you are available for filming on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 June
  2. Send us an email with your name, the subject you are studying and the hall you are living in
    and attach either:
  3. A 30sec/1 minute film taken on your phone explaining either a) why you LOVE Reading or b) what you love about your halls of residence
    Or
A word document of 100 words on a) why you LOVE Reading or b) what you love about your halls of residence

If you’d like to take part, please send the above information to Sara at s.j.asghar@reading.ac.uk by Wednesday 18 June and we will let you know by Friday 20 if you have been successful. If you are successful, we’ll send you details of when and where to meet us on 24 and 25 June.
