This information is for programme administrators who need to set up assessments in RISIS and use Mark Approval and Transfer in Blackboard to extract marks.
With the change to Blackboard Ultra there was a significant background technical change to the Grades Journey, this has also included a change to SITS Cloud.
When does Grades Journey switch over for 2024-25?
The provisioning of assessments for 2024-25 starts on Tuesday 15th October, 09:00.
IC columns will appear in courses and any associated submission points, depending on the mode of submission.
What happens to assessments in 2023-24 courses?
The provisioning of assessments for courses ends on Monday 14th October. After this date, any provisioning or extraction of marks to RISIS still required for courses running in 2023/24 need to be carried out manually.
Checks & actions to carry out in Blackboard
Following the introduction of the new Grades Journey integration, please check the following:
- Are the expected Gradebook IC columns listed?
- Have the expected Blackboard provisioned submission points appeared in the ‘Assessment’ learning module? Do they have the expected Start Date, Due date, End date?
- Drag the submission points into the relevant assignment folder.
- Create any required submission points and map to the IC columns in Gradebook.
- Make sure the IC column calculates the mark correctly. The default function is Average, amend this if it not what is required.
For support in these tasks, please see the guides within Working with Assessments in an Ultra course
Post-deadline submission points known issue and workaround
Please note, there is a known issue with the post-deadline submission point due date provisioning; these should be set to +1 minutes, for example, if the due date for the on-time submission is 11:00, it should be appear as 11:01 but shows as the actual deadline. This issue is being worked on. The displayed warning in Edit Settings does not affect students ability to submit.
- Do not manually edit the time to correct it as it will be automatically reset overnight.
- If any edits are required to these post-deadline submission points, set the due date to +1 min to allow you to save.
