Following the latest Blackboard update, you can now find a student’s submission when the Blackboard Assignment is anonymous using the unique Submission Receipt ID.
This option was lost following a previous update but is now back and working.
Colleagues will appreciate the ability to search using the submission receipt to help manage the marking process when anonimity is enabled, for example:
- conducting moderation and you want to easily return to a submission attempt or ask a colleague to look at a submission.
- if a student gets in contact about their submission,
- or there is a question about the academic integrity of a submission that needs to be followed up.
The ‘Search by submission receipt number’ icon can be found in in the Markable Items, Marks or Student tab in a course’s Gradebook.
The submission receipt number for a submitted piece of work is shown at the top of the screen when you have a submission open. This number is permanently associated with the submission. You can copy the number to store elsewhere if you want to locate the submission again, especially once anonimity is lifted.
Students can also see the number and is included their submission receipt email.
Please don’t confuse the submission receipt number with the anonymous student number. This number disappears when anonimity is removed. This happens automatically when marks are posted to students.
