Padlet is now integrated with Blackboard Ultra, meaning it is available alongside other third-party tools in your Course ‘Content Market’. If you are new to Padlet and want to get started see: Teaching with Padlet.
What are the key changes?
- Existing University Padlet users should clear their browser cache and access Padlet via Blackboard prior to Semester 1 teaching.
- After accessing via Blackboard, please use this new URL to bookmark for quick access: https://padlet.com/universityofreading
What are the benefits?
The Blackboard integration makes it quicker and easier to:
- Activate your institutional Padlet license and add padlets to your Course (simply visit Content Market > Padlet).
- Onboard students into Padlet (accounts are activated for each student that accesses a ‘School only’ padlet added via Content Market).
- Use the ‘School only’ share setting in Blackboard:

- These padlets can now be embedded into Ultra Documents, when added via Content Market.

- Students are not required to sign-in when accessing ‘School only’ padlets, if their device browser is already logged into Blackboard.
What does the Padlet integration look like?
To access the integration, open Content Market in your Blackboard Course and choose Padlet from the available tools.
Important:
- Refresh your Blackboard Course page to see a newly added padlet.
- ‘School only’ padlets are listed as ‘Private – Only owner and collaborator can access’. Please be assured that your students will be able to access the padlet added to your Blackboard Course.
Need students to create their own padlets?
Students can access their Padlet dashboard from the student Blackboard homepage, they can create and share their own ‘School only’ padlets.
Need to create a template for students to have their own copy?
The Padlet Blackboard integration provides a new option to ‘Create a copy for each user’. Toggle this before selecting a padlet to deploy in your course, doing so will create a copy for each user that accesses the padlet (so that each student gets their own copy to edit).
