TSBE Director receives EPSRC Global Engineering Challenges research investment

EPSRC Challenging Engineers and Royal Academy of Engineering Senior Research Fellows investment

Hosted by the Royal Academy of Engineering in partnership with the national academies of engineering in the US and China, this week’s Global Grand Challenges Summit will see leading international engineering thinkers and innovators sharing ideas with the next generation of engineers and policy-makers on how to solve the world’s most pressing challenges.

EPSRC recently worked with a cohort of current EPSRC Challenging Engineers and Royal Academy of Engineering Senior Research Fellows to make available to them, through a competitive process, opportunities for further research investments. A total of £15m was awarded to support recognised current and future research leaders to build on existing programme of research, or to break into new areas.

These investments are in line with EPSRC’s aims of supporting world-class research and developing skilled people, to keep the UK at the heart of the global engineering research community.
