Researcher elected onto CIBSE Building Simulation Group (BSG) committee

TSBE Centre researcher, Sahm Sawaf, has been recently elected as the Event Secretary for the CIBSE Building Simulation Group (BSG). His first organised event – “Designing for Better Indoor Environmental Quality Buildings” explored current and future approaches to improving the indoor environmental quality (IEQ) of buildings. With current and future focus on low or net zero carbon buildings, IEQ issues are expected to become more challenging for building designers and operators and the seminar tackled some of the issues and future solutions. The event was well attended by engineers from both academia and industry.

When asked about his involvement with CIBSE, Sahm said “I met some members of the BSG committee members at our TSBE Centre Annual Conference and found the work of the group was well aligned with my own research. It is great to discuss the challenges of our future buildings with other Professionals in the field. The TSBE conference is a great opportunity to network with industry with tangible results.” Sahm is planning two other events for the CIBSE group which will take place in Sep 2013 and April 2014.
