CIBSE Technical Symposium 2014

Prize Giving and Drinks Reception Aungier St. CampusThe Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE) Technical Symposium took place in April in Dublin this year.  One of our Research Engineers, Laura Daniels, presented a paper at this prestigious event, bringing together academia and industry networks.

CIBSE events are always great to attend. The attitude of bringing together industry and academia is always evident and this fits so well with the EngD programme its always great to see EngDs attend.

People travelled far and wide, as usual, for this prestigious event.  Many visitors from the US organisation, ASHRAE and even engineers from Australia came to Dublin to hear the most innovative technologies presented.

I felt very privileged to present my work on smart grids at this conference:  the grid is going to play a huge part in the building services industry and vice versa.

I managed to meet with M&S representatives in Ireland stores during my visit which has been incredibly useful for my work here at TSBE centre.

I look forward to seeing a larger EngD presence next year in London!
