We are fast approaching the Easter bank holiday weekend – The University will be closed 1- 6 April opening back up on the 7 April, so here’s an update of all the services and when you can get in touch:
Student Services Reception:
- The Student Services reception will be closed during the Easter bank holidays and closure days (1 – 6 April).

Student Welfare Team:
- The Student Welfare service will be closed during the Easter bank holidays and closure days (1 – 6 April).

Counselling and Wellbeing:
- The Counselling and Wellbeing service is open from 9:00 – 17:00, except for the closure days (Thursday 1 April to Tuesday 6 April).

The Student Financial Support Team:
- The Student Financial Support service will be closed during the Easter bank holidays and closure days (1 – 6 April).

The Disability Advisory Service (DAS):
- The Disability Advisory Service (DAS) will be closed during the Easter bank holidays and closure days (1 – 6 April).

Library:
Study Advice:
- Other than the closure days and bank holidays, Study Advice will be open with the same hours as usual. Outside of term times Study Advice don’t run drop-ins or webinars but do have bookable 1-2-1 slots and will be replying to emails.

Campus Jobs:
- The office will be closed for Easter from 17:00 on Wednesday 31 March until 9:00 Wednesday 7 April.

Careers and Placements Team:
- The Careers and Placements service will be closed during the Easter bank holidays and closure days.

The International Student Advisory Team:
- International Advice will be closed during the closure days and bank holidays. Normal service will resume after/before this time.

IT Support:
The IT counter in the Library will close at 17:00 on Wednesday 31 March and reopen at 9:00 on Wednesday 7 April, bookable only via appointment at www.reading.ac.uk/booksd
Telephone lines will close at 14:00 on 31 March, and email and portal support will close at 18:00 on 31 March and reopen at 8:00 on Wednesday 7 April.
There are no out-of-hours support, all tickets logged by email/portal during the closure period will be responded to on our return.
Support centres:
Support centres will be closed from Thursday 1 – Tuesday 6 April, reopening for telephone enquiries at 10:00 on Wednesday 7 April.
Students can raise enquiries over the Easter period via ‘Ask a Question’ in the RISIS Portal, although you will not receive a response until the 7th at the earliest.
RUSU:
From 29 March to 19 April your Students’ Union will be closed.
The RUSU building is open because outlets (MailBoxes, Bagelman, Soul of Seoul, BubbleTea) and will be open as normal apart from University closure days. The Study will be open 24 hours a day, opening 8:00 on Monday and closing 18:00 on Saturday. However, RUSU reception and Student Activities will be closed throughout the whole Easter break.
The RUSU building and The Study will be closed from 17:00 on 31 March, and will reopen at 9:00 on 7 April.
Whilst the Advice Service is still operating during this closure period, they are doing so with a greatly reduced staff, and are working limited hours within this period. Your Student Officers will also be working during this closure on reduced hours, so responses may take longer than usual.
Mondial will be open as takeaway only from the 12 April. The opening times between the 12 – 17 April are as follows:
- Monday to Friday – 10:30 – 17:30
- Saturday – 12:00 – 17:30
