Support Reading on University Challenge!

4 Students at the University Challenge set for the University of Reading

The University of Reading’s run continues after victory over the University of Birmingham in their first quarter-final, coming from behind at one stage to triumph 170 to 135 in a closely contested match.

A big congratulations to the team, who will need to negotiate a second quarter-final to reach the semis.

Thanks to the team of Reading making us proud. We are behind you in both physical and spiritual and we believe you will make it to the finals. Reading all the way. Cheers guys.

I would like to contact Margaret Ounsley about her PHD. My father was the youngest and one of the last Work House masters in England, and ran a home for 1600 patients in Leytonstone, London. When work houses were abolished they were for a while renamed as Poor Law institutions, but they were still full of people needing care. The senior staff were still called ‘Masters’ well into the 20th century.
Please could you forward my email address to Margaret, who I saw on University Challenge last night, and who was brilliant.
    Yours Hopefully,
    Stella Coulson
