What do computer systems and human social systems have in common? Binaries, Bias Algorithms, System Failures? I satirically embrace how my identity may be translated through these binaries  and present the anxious and frustrating experience of being both liberated and confined by such labels through short films, creative photography, and memes. Computers rely on 0’s and 1’s. These binaries can be translated into human social categories, alongside a new, implied hierarchy. Rich – Poor. Gay- Straight. Male-Female. Black- White. Are you a 1? Or a 0? My work plays with the concept of the ‘0’ binary labels that I have experienced. The films I create act as a computers reaction to trying to read a human binary and experiencing an error due to their absurdity and inequality.
